I do enjoy photographing different sports, boxing being one of those. While researching Cuba, we found a video with footage of a boxing gym in Old Havana. It took a bit of work but we discovered it’s location along Cuba Calle 815, the “Rafael Trejo” Gimnasio al Aire Libre, an open air training facility for local boxing enthusiasts. Named after a revolutionary hero who was shot in 1936, it is a facility for young and not-so-young pugilists to learn and train for their country’s second favorite sport which is surpassed only by Cuba’s well-documented passion for baseball.
With the location sorted I wanted to spend a few hours hanging out and getting a few different images. You can find those below in a slide show.
