It was a beautiful evening and having a bit of time to play with I decided to grab my camera gear and go for a wander down to the waterfront at Strathcona Park Lodge. It is a very nice spot to get some different images. I had a couple of different ideas in mind, and they changed as I was setting up my gear.
It is always interesting how many different ideas cane found close by. This image was on the front of the boat house. I used one flash and set just behind camera left, with it zoomed out to 105mm. Added a little bit of sharpening and some vignetting in LR4.
This one was done with one flash as well, it was set about 4 ft off camera left and had a 1/2 CTO on.
This images was using a single flash on a stick. I had a 1/4 cot on a 530 ex2 and was triggered my PW mini. I put a little bit of tape on the bottom of the strobe to avoid spill onto the dock.
“Coiled” was also shot with a flash from above. I like the way the water takes on a mysterious look.
All of these images were shot with in a 20 ft area. It was a good experimentation. Look forward to sharing more from some of my european adventures and more in upcoming posts.
